Dental emergencies can be frightening, and they often happen at the most inconvenient times. If you or a loved one is experiencing severe oral pain or trauma, please don't hesitate to contact Loveland emergency dentist, Dr. Andy Maples and the rest of our team. At West Lake Dental, we provide a variety of services designed to effectively treat everything from minor decay to multiple missing teeth. Better yet, we do our best to see every emergency case the very same day as your initial call so that you can experience the relief you deserve.
In the time between your initial call and your arrival at our office, there are actions you can take to preserve the health and vitality of your injured smile. Here are some valuable tips for the most common dental emergency cases we see:
Rinse the tooth with warm water and then hold a cold compress on your cheek as you make your way to our office. This should help to reduce any swelling that may occur.
If you still have the tooth, rinse it very carefully to remove stray debris while making sure that natural tissue stays attached. Once this is done, attempt to place it back into its socket. If you can’t, put the tooth in a cup of milk and make sure to bring it with you to our office. There, our team can determine whether reattachment is possible.
Are you sure that a piece of debris isn't causing the discomfort? Rinse and floss the area thoroughly to make sure. If the pain persists, contact our office so that we can schedule an appointment.
Do you still have the temporary? If not, gently dry the affected tooth and apply a small amount of toothpaste or dental wax to the top so that you can reattach it. This should provide you with some relief until you’re able to be seen.
If you’re experiencing a dental emergency, don't hesitate to contact West Lake Dental for the advanced care, friendly staff, and quality attention you deserve. We’ll do our best to see you as soon as possible!
