Covid-19 Update

August 31, 2020

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and while many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety! Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and this is one area where we are continually making improvements.  Besides our standard infection control procedures, we have made several other office changes to keep you safe. We understand that some of you may want to delay or reschedule your appointments and we are happy to do this for you. Please give us a call and we will find a time that is convenient. With our additional safety procedures in place and your cooperation we feel that we can provide great care in a safe environment.

 Some of our new procedures:

We complete a pre-screening questionnaire the day before all appointments. We ask our patients to wait in their car until the time of their appointment so that we limit the number of people in the office at any given time. We take temperatures as soon as patients arrive in the office and require all patients to wear masks while not in a treatment room. The clinical team wears two masks as well as a face shield to protect our patients. And, we have reconfigured the front desk to include plexiglass barriers and “stand stations” to show where patients should stand to follow social distancing requirements. In between appointments we are using hospital grade disinfectant to clean all surfaces in both our treatment rooms as well as in the front office, bathrooms and reception area, and these areas are being disinfected on the hour. Finally, Dr. Andy regularly reviews the latest updates on how to best manage patient safety as we learn more about the virus.

We look forward to continuing to provide you with great care in the safest way possible during these unique times!

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns can perform several functions, including restoring teeth that are broken, worn, or decayed.

These restorations can also be used as a cosmetic treatment to conceal imperfections or paired with dental implants to replace lost teeth.

Dr. Andy Maples offers traditional and same-day crowns for our patients at West Lake Dental in Loveland, CO.

Traditional Dental Crowns A Closer Look at the Procedure

During an initial consultation at our Loveland practice, Dr. Maples can determine if you are a candidate for a dental crown. Treatment usually takes one to two appointments, depending on your specific needs. Here are some basic steps you can expect during treatment.
Many of our patients qualify for same-day crowns.
Many of our patients qualify for same-day crowns.

Tooth Preparation

First, your dentist removes small amounts of enamel from the affected tooth. This helps your new crown adhere properly. Conservative methods are used to retain as much natural tooth structure as possible.

Dental Impressions

Once the tooth is prepared, your dentist takes impressions of the teeth and gums. These impressions are then sent to a dental lab, where a skilled dental technician uses them to fabricate your final restoration.

Temporary Crown Placement

Next, your dentist places a temporary crown to protect the tooth until your permanent crown can be placed. Traditional restorations typically take two office visits. However, many of our patients qualify for same-day crowns.

Permanent Crown Fabrication

If your case is sent to a dental lab for fabrication, the process usually takes anywhere from two to four weeks. A ceramist carefully crafts your dental crown to blend in seamlessly with your surrounding teeth.

Permanent Crown Placement

Once your final restoration is ready, your dentist removes the temporary crown and bonds the new one to the tooth. Dr. Maples will check your bite and assess the crown's look and fit to ensure it is functioning properly.

Same-Day Crowns

At West Lake Dental, we utilize advanced CAD/CAM technology. Qualifying patients can have their dental crowns fabricated and placed in just one office visit. There is no need for a temporary or long wait for a fully restored smile. During a consultation at our dentistry practice, Dr. Maples can let you know if you are a candidate for this state-of-the-art procedure.

I am a retired doctor and new to the area. I was referred to Dr. Maples through family members. I must tell you firstly that I was envious of the manner in which his office is operated. I had practiced my profession for thirty-six years and have not seen a better run operation. The staff is highly skilled and were a kind and caring group. Each time I've visited the office I have been treated like a family member. Rarely do you find such a consistently genuine dental office.
