Covid-19 Update

August 31, 2020

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and while many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety! Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and this is one area where we are continually making improvements.  Besides our standard infection control procedures, we have made several other office changes to keep you safe. We understand that some of you may want to delay or reschedule your appointments and we are happy to do this for you. Please give us a call and we will find a time that is convenient. With our additional safety procedures in place and your cooperation we feel that we can provide great care in a safe environment.

 Some of our new procedures:

We complete a pre-screening questionnaire the day before all appointments. We ask our patients to wait in their car until the time of their appointment so that we limit the number of people in the office at any given time. We take temperatures as soon as patients arrive in the office and require all patients to wear masks while not in a treatment room. The clinical team wears two masks as well as a face shield to protect our patients. And, we have reconfigured the front desk to include plexiglass barriers and “stand stations” to show where patients should stand to follow social distancing requirements. In between appointments we are using hospital grade disinfectant to clean all surfaces in both our treatment rooms as well as in the front office, bathrooms and reception area, and these areas are being disinfected on the hour. Finally, Dr. Andy regularly reviews the latest updates on how to best manage patient safety as we learn more about the virus.

We look forward to continuing to provide you with great care in the safest way possible during these unique times!

Experience Comfortable Care with Sedation Dentistry

A close up of a closed eyeDoes the thought of seeing a dentist make you anxious, nervous, or even frightened? We want you to know that you’re not alone – a significant amount of adults struggle with this problem. That's why Loveland sedation dentist, Dr. Andy Maples and the rest of our team work hard to provide you with an environment that's as warm, friendly, and calm as possible. If that’s not enough, sedation dentistry options are available to take the edge off those negative feelings and help you truly relax. At West Lake Dental, patient satisfaction is our top priority!

Oral Conscious Sedation

Sometimes, nitrous oxide alone might not be enough to help you feel at ease. That's why for patients with moderate to severe anxiety, we usually recommend combining it with a form of conscious sedation. While, as the name implies, you don’t fall asleep during conscious sedation, virtually all patients enter such a deep state of relaxation that they experience an amnesic effect that allows them to forget most, if not all, of their procedure once it’s over. When undergoing conscious sedation, you will need a trusted friend or family member to bring you to your appointment and take you home, as well as keep an eye on you for the rest of the day. By the following morning, you should be back to normal.
